Discover South African Pantry-lore

Do you have a story to share of cooking or baking or preserving to stock up the family food stores? I remember picking peaches and watching them cooked and bottled to eat at a later date with farm cream as a delicious dessert. All of nature’s goodness and taste sealed in because the fruit came fresh from the tree – from tree to the home table: picked by my child’s hand, preserved by my mother, and eaten by the family – all done without a trip to the grocery store and prepared freshly in the family home.

Join me on this journey to remember the art of pantry fare and rustic foods that are wholesome and nutritious. Subscribe at  X.com/@NerinaLiving

If you have similar memories and recipes and anecdotes to share, please write to me here, I would love to hear from you and share South African pantry cookery recipes and methods that can be used in any home and do not require industrial processing or sophisticated machinery.

Celebrating good food, straight from the land, as nature intended.
